Covid-19 has made people pursue remote working as the new normal. This trend has also led to difficulties among the working class in balancing their work and personal lives.
According to the United Nations Report (2017), most remote workers experience higher stress levels than those working from the office.
Work environments and daily routines can impact one’s health.
Below are ways through which one can enhance their health while working from home:
1.Connect with Nature
Nature has a calming effect on people, and it also helps in reducing stress. Take a walk in the evening to relax your mind after a long day’s work.
Ensure you incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. Living a sedentary life increases the chances of getting some diseases.
Exercising increases enthusiasm, aids in relaxation and reduces nervousness.
3.Eat healthily and hydrate regularly
Drinking enough fluids reduces dehydration.
One should, however, reduce coffee and tea intake as the two drinks have caffeine that are harmful to one’s health.
Eat high fibre meals and reduce your intake of junk food that can lead to a heart attack.
4.Set up work-life boundaries
Working from home can interfere with the balance between one’s personal and professional life.
5.Stick to a daily routine
Daily routines make one feel relaxed. Make it a habit to be getting to bed and waking up at a specific time daily.
6.Make personal connections
Working remotely can make it more difficult for people to connect with their co-workers at a personal level.
It is therefore important to create time to be with family and friends.
