Christiane Amanpour: CNN Anchor Discloses on Air She Was Diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer

CNN top anchor Christiane Amanpour has revealed that she is battling ovarian cancer but stated that she is hopeful everything will turn out well.
The anchor was doing a live show when she started by thanking her colleagues for holding the fort when she was not around for four weeks.
Amanpour disclosed that it was during this period that she found out she had ovarian cancer and had to undergo life-changing surgery.
“During that time, like many women around the world. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I have had successful major surgery to remove it, and I am now undergoing some amounts chemotherapy,” she said.
According to the award-winning journalist, she decided to share personal news to promote transparency with her fans and encourage other women to take up early screening and pay attention to their bodies.
